Next time you turn on your iPhone, hit the sky-blue icon marked with the letter A. That’s the App Store, and there are more games within that store than you could probably play in your lifetime. The iPhone’s touch screen brings game-playing on a mobile phone to a new dimension. A swipe across the screen could be setting up a bank shot in the billiards game “Doodlepool” or send one of the “Angry Birds” flying across a field.

The App Store allows the user to get access to games through a Top 25 tab which maintains the current top paid, free and grossing applications. Games are the most popular applications on each list. Topping the paid applications are perennial favorites such as the arcade game “Tetris” and the popular “Call of Duty: Black Ops Zombies,” which features multiplayer strategy and roleplay. The top free games include “Very Hungry Cat” and “ArcheryWorldCup.” Top grossing “Poker by Zynga” highlights how well-suited the iPhone’s touch screen is for playing card games.

Whether you enjoy “Spider Solitaire” or online blackjack games, you’ll enjoy the hands-on action that is possible with the iPhone. Your finger’s movement can select cards, flip them over, and rearrange them in your hand. There are over 20 blackjack games in the App Store, and each has user ratings and comments available to help you in your choice.

Getting a game is easy. Click on the install button, and login to your iTunes account. An icon will appear on your screen, and the game will install. Most game applications take up little room, and you can set up a virtual game room on your iPhone complete with chess, blackjack, strategy games and more. You’ll be surprised at the level of gaming that is possible on a mobile phone.

Not into the world of RC then how about a couple of different iPhone docking stations. From iLive there is the Clock Dock, which turns your iPhone into an analog clock while it docked. One of the best qualities about the iPhone is the different number of gadgets you can purchase to help augment many of the features of the iPhone. From speakers to stands, there is an iPhone gadget that will assist in helping you enjoy your phone even more.

The more typical gadgets for iPhones are chargers, headphones, small microphones, blue-tooth accessories and protective cases. Many of these you can find in your local phone store and come in a variety of brands and prices. The cases in particular come in a variety of colors as well as protective materials from hard plastic to fine leather. But there are the more unusual gadgets you can purchase for your iPhone that are available over the internet or at specially selected stores. Here are a few types of gadgets you can use to help augment some specific features of the iPhone.

Speakers and Amplifiers: One of the best aspects of the iPhone is the number of music files that can be easily stored, but you may not want to play them over your headphones all the time. Fortunately, there are a number of speakers and amplifiers that can help boost the sound similar to what you would hear in old fashioned boom boxes. There are several versions that vary in cost from Vestalife to Bose speaker systems. In most cases, the iPhone is docked into a stand that connects it to a small amplifier and twin speakers system, allowing the audio to be heard comfortably in a small room.
Another version created by Griffin augments the iPhone’s own speakers by using a very small amplifier that also doubles as a docking station. This unique item is fairly inexpensive and can fit in small places where speakers might be a problem.

Stands: For those who enjoy watching a game or videos on their iPhone screen, but don’t want to hold the phone in their hands, there is a wide selection of stands to choose from. From simple products such as the GoGo Stand which can easily fold up and fit into your shirt pocket to the more elaborate PED3, which cradles your phone almost like in a strange hand holding the phone above the table.

Car Accessories: Hands free iPhone are not just necessary when driving, in many places they are the law. One of the more interesting car stands is represented by the Xtand Go, which mounts the iPhone against the windshield, allowing for a solid stand with a clear view of the phone. Other stands, such as the BlueAnt Sun Visor S1 clips to your car visor and allow your iPhone to work with voice commands, leaving your hands free to drive. While researching also have a look at the new HTC Sensation XL. Also quite good!
